Bats on the Line

My dh took the boys on a hike this morning. Not long after they had left they were back, breathless and asking for the camera. Soon they returned with pictures and a story of  a dead bat whom had died on a power line near our house.

This is one of the bats that fell down from the wire. The other two are still up there.

It seems there was a spot on the line were the protective cover was removed and the bats were etectrocuted. A neighbor said he saw one bat on the line, it was electrocuted and then another bat went to the dead one and he too was electrocuted. Then another bat came to the two dead ones and he too died.

You never know what you will find on a nature hike.
